Japan's sa current account comes below expectations
Japan's August sa current account came at Y 351.8bn vs Y 634.1bn expected and Y 333.7bn prior, while not seasonally adjusted, Japan's current account stood at Y +161.5bn vs Y 520.0bn expected and 577.3bn prior. Meanwhile, the BoP current account balance (YoY) (Aug) came at -63.7% vs 18.1% survey and -12.9% prior.

Is the US crisis a national delusion?
The US shutdown started almost a week ago when republicans, led by House Speaker John Boehner and democrats, led by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid blocked themselves mostly due to the implications of the administration’s willingness to pass the healthcare legislation called Obamacare. Failing to come to an agreement before the beginning of October, federal funding was cut off – with the exception of military spending.
