Germany: Flash PMI Manufacturing rises to 54.2 in April

Preliminary German PMI Manufacturing increased to 54.2 points in April, from 53.7 points in March, according to data released today by Markit. The result is slightly above market consensus of 54 points.

PMI Services grew to 55 points in April, following a 53 point reading the previous month and above expectations of a rise to 53.4.

China announced on Tuesday that the reserve requirement ratio for rural commercial banks would be reduced by 200bp and for rural cooperative banks by 50bp, effective from April 25. The move, signaled by the PBoC last week, is aimed at spurring growth in the country through boosting lending in the agricultural sector.
